WORKSHOPS
Suzuki:
Adults & Teens
Instructor: Sal Mannino
Created by acclaimed Japanese Director, Tadashi Suzuki, the Suzuki Method of Training for the Actor has taken Eastern and Western theatre training by storm. This rigorous discipline challenges the physical core of the actor, as well as pushes the boundaries of an ensemble. This workshop will venture into the basic principles of Suzuki’s method, as well as apply these classroom practices to modern and classic texts. Friends and family are invited to view an open showing of the method and the materials covered on the last session: Wednesday, June 25 at 5pm.
*Bring socks and a water bottle & wear clothing that does not restrict movement of the body

Make - up Art for Stage:
Age 11 - Adult
Instructor: Liz Waldman
This nine - session workshop is packed with hands - on make - up art fun! In each session, students will view a live demonstration of a stage make-up technique or genre and then go on to practice that skill on themselves or a partner. Lessons may include, but are not limited to: color theory, highlight and shadow, old age, prosthetics, faux facial hair, bruises & cuts, animals, tattoos, fantasy, Mardi Gras, clown, etc. Artists will graduate the course with a digital portfolio of their creations and their own basic make-up kit. Students may bring a guest to participate in the last session: Thursday, July 31 at 5:30pm.
*Bring a button-up shirt or robe to protect clothing

Costume Design & Craft Technique:
Age 11 - Adult
Instructor: Ricola Willie
Steal the show at your next costume party; whatever the occasion this eight-session workshop is sure to give you a creative boost! Artists will embark upon the costume design process from inspiration through development. During the workshop students will be assigned characters to bring to life through work in drawing, character development and specialized craft techniques such as fabric dying, fabric painting, costume aging, armor construction processes, and more. Topics will include introduction to costume theory, design, and creative development in color, composition, and form. The course will culminate in a collection of costume renderings which friends and family are invited to view on the last session: Wednesday July 30 at 6pm.
*Dress appropriately for painting and dying fabric.

This two - day workshop is a platform for unlimited creative expression! Whether your theatrical experience is extensive or non - existent, this workshop will advance your skills in stage presence, confidence, teamwork, open-minded creativity, and quick-thinking through different forms of improv. Come ready to play! Family and friends are invited to come play in an open workshop on the last session: Sunday, July 20 at 3pm.

CAMPS
Spectrum of Theatre Arts: Grades K - 4, 5 - 8, and 9 - 12
Instructor: Molly E. Maginnis
Explore the creative world of theatre art with hands-on experience! Accommodating various ages and skill levels, these camp intensives will train the young artist in acting, design, and creation. Lessons and activities will range from auditioning, script analysis, speech, movement, costuming, lighting, sound, and scenery. Young artists will build skills and confidence through warm-up techniques, improvisation games, and rehearsal! Family and friends are invited to attend a final performance at 1pm on the last Saturday of each camp.
*Bring a lunch and drink each day

Symphony of Sound & Light: Grades 4 - 8
Instructor: Liz Waldman
Venture backstage and discover the magic of theatre through sound and lighting design! This camp will promote collaboration with the knowledge of sound and light as powerful elements that tell stories and create moods. Students will learn basic sound and lighting skills, including playing with live sounds, digital recording, sound-mixing, exploring color, shape, and movement of light. As designers in training, students will have hands-on access to professional theatre technology. The camp will culminate with a final presentation of the group’s work, a “Symphony of Sound and Lights.” Family and friends are invited to view this intriguing creation on the last session: Saturday, June 7 at 11:30am.
*Wear closed toe shoes and comfortable attire
